The work of the illegal footwear factory has been stopped in the city of Chekov

In the city of Chekhov, Moscow region, the work of the illegal footwear factory, which belonged to the Vietnamese citizens, has been stopped.
The production was based on the territory of the former cantonment, recently bought out by Vietnamese businessmen. The new owners brought into the barracks equipment 2 million dollars worth and bought raw materials - substance loking like plastic material.
Beach footwear of different colors was made of this material and fake labels with names of leading brands were attached to it. Then these goods were sold at commodities markets in Moscow region.
Detectives confiscated raw materials 2 million 874 rubles worth, and found 60420 pairs of ready footwear at the warehouse. About two hundred people lived on the territory of the cantonment. These people with their families came to Moscow region from Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Moldova. Out of 103 people found by the police in the premises, 84 people did not have official permission to live and work in Russia. The workers lived right at the enterprise in awful conditions. The places where they slept were separated one from the other by hanging sheets. At the factory there was a kind of infirmary, where bed-patients were lying.
At present the work of the shop has been stopped, organizers of the enterprise have been arrested.
