In January-September 2002 light industry production output amounted to 1397.1 million rubles (92,1% to the similar period of the last year). As of October 1, 2002 the number of cattle at all types of farms of agricultural producers (including agricultural enterprises, private individual farms, peasant households (farmsteads), amounted to 1238.2 thousand heads (including cows - 487.2 thousand), pig number ran to 797.9 thousand heads, sheep and goats - 476.8 thousand. As compared with the data on October 1, 2001 cattle head number has increased by 0.4%, pigs - by 1.1%. By the beginning of October, 2002 at private households there were 27.2% cattle number (including 37.3% cows), 15.7% pigs, 88,7% sheep and goats.In January- September 2002 retail trade turnover reached 53980.7 rubles, having exceeded by 7.9% the similar period index of 2001 in comparable prices.
