According to the information of the Altai Region State Statistics Committee the production output in the region light industry over 9 months of 2002 has decreased as compared with the similar period of the last year by 26%.
At the farms of all producers of agricultural products as of October 1, 2002 cattle head number amounted to 1165.2 thousand heads (101% to 2001 level), including cows - 501.4 thousand heads (99%), pigs - 681,9 thousand heads (112%), sheep and goats - 343.4 thousand heads (94%).
