Light industry output over 9 months of 2002 as compared with the same period of 2001 has diminished by 4%, leather footwear having reduced
by 5%. As of October 1, 2002 at all types of farms there were 199 thousand heads of cattle (including 114 thousand cows), 94 thousand pigs, 90
thousand sheep and goats. Head number of the main types of stock as compared with October 1, 2001 has fallen down: cattle - by 6 thousand heads
(3%) (including cows - by 6 thousand heads (5%), pigs - by 4 thousand heads (4%), the number of sheep and goats has been preserved almost at the
level of October 1, 2001.
