One million 319 thousand footwear pairs were manufactured by Chelyabinsk company Unichel. So footwear producers exceeded the results of the previous year by 12%. The amount of children footwear produced was 666 thousand pairs, the increase being about 10%. As for the shipment, 2001 level was surpassed by 11% and amounted to 1 million 287 thousand pairs. The previous year for Unichel was marked by purchase of "Orenburg footwear factory" and controlling stake of Zlatoust footwear factory "Zlato". These two enterprises now specialize in producing footwear for schoolchildren. The forthcoming plans of the enterprise include the expansion of the production assortment and the renovation of the equipment.
