According to Vladimir Gorlov, Legislative Assembly Deputy of the Krasnoyarsk region OAO Kansk Leather Factory is an example of non-effective management of the enterprise by private owners. Since 2002 due to the complete loss of own current assets the leather factory does not work. According to Gorlov, in order to launch the production once again, about 2 million dollars are needed. Previously the enterprise was owned by the state, had firm business connections and provided 700 jobs for the citizens. At the beginning of the 90-ies the factory was converted into a joint stock company, but this did not improve its work. The deputy, who visited the native region not long ago, found that the manufacturing buildings are in order - the windows are not broken, the expensive equipment is in place. According to Gorlov, it is the State which must become the investor, as the problem concerns the jobs for Kansk's citizens.
