On the 6th of March Troitsk footwear factory marked its 60th anniversary. The enterprise, created during the 2nd World War, used to manufacture
kersey footwear with a wooden sole for prisoners of war and occupied only 150 square meters. Only 35 people worked there, and all the footwear
was hand made. During post-war economic restoration period the enterprise began to produce footwear with wooden sole and textile upper. By the
beginning of 60ies the factory had reached 20 thousand footwear pairs output, production of men and women leather footwear was launched. At that
time the factory, due to transition from hand manufacture to the mechanized production, sent its workers to be trained at the Leningrad Skorokhod
factory. B the beginning of seventies production facilities of the factory had increased almost up to 2000 square meters, and the number of workers
had grown up to 320 people. The new equipment was rapidly introduced. The assortment of Troitsk footwear makers included both chuvyaks, ladies'
high boots, ladies' high and medium-heeled shoes, and light footwear. The footwear was sold all over the USSR. Up to 2000 the enterprise manufactured
footwear for workers. Over the last year in view of the absence of sales markets the factory's activity is merely confined to repairing footw.
