The information became known to us about forthcoming closure of ZAO Moskozhkombinat, the last of Moscow three tanneries ( the first two ZAO Ruskon and Moscow Heavy Leathers Tannery were closed in 2002). According to our sources (unverified), the new owners are going to build on this territory an entertainment centre.
Moskozhkombinat specialized mainly on manufacturing leather for special footwear upper. Russian tanneries do not seem to make enough to afford the luxury of working on the territory of such an expensive city as Moscow.
