According to Kostroma Statistics Committee growth in light industry of the region during January-September 2003 amounted 0.7% as compared with the similar period of the previous year. Considerable growth in textile sub-industry have been the main factor which have made for the growth in light industry as a whole. Meanwhile in the leather, fur and footwear sub-industry we saw an 11% drop in production during above-mentioned period. There was a 53% decrease in Juft leathers production. Footwear production reduced by 24%. Production of fur hats went up by 3%, of woman fur coats - by 2%.
