One may say beforehand that the year 2003 is going to be very successful for the Republic of Dagestan. Light industry enterprises have been especially successful. In January-October 2003 growth in Dagestan light industry amounted 85% as compared with the similar period of 2002! Footwear output increased 7.9-fold (by 690%). Cattle livestock number increased by 6% including cows - by 5.4%, sheep and goats - by 11.3%, pigs - by 25.4.
