Russian raw hides and finished leather market report. Moscow 4th January 2002
| As we predicted in the previous market report, during the second half of December Russian raw hides' market saw the usual seasonal decrease
in demand and fewer business transactions. Prices have dropped further. Very limited demand for cattle hides of low grades (especially calves
and kips) and horse hides could be noted. Prices differ widely depending on origin, selection, terms of payment, etc. Wet blue cattle hides of low quality also saw limited demand from abroad. Business activities will remain at very low levels until the end of holidays (the 8th of January). Despite of continuing decrease in raw hides' prices during the second half of last year Russian producers of finished leathers haven't made any considerable reductions in their prices. We shall see in the nearest future whether this situation is going to change. 1. Raw hides and skins
* EXW price includes packing and loading of the goods at Sellers warehouse, doesn't include delivery and export duties, no discount for salt and manure is offered. All above quoted prices apply to uniform merchandise weighing 20 tons and more. Smaller lots may be bought at lower prices. ** CPT price also includes the cost of delivery and export duties.
