In February the market was a little firmer than a month ago. Supply of raw hides and skins remained high. There was higher demand for raw hides suitable for upholstery leather production, lower demand for bulls (usual buyers were short of cash), stable demand for hides weighing 12-17 kg and 0-12 kg. Prices differed considerably depending on the origin and selection.
The reduction in locally made finished leathers prices continued. We have heard of some big Russian tanneries' intention to reduce prices on main articles of production.
